Prop 8 Unconstitutional

Today Judge Walker found Prop 8 to be unconstitutional. This really is not too big of a surprise considering the defense of Prop 8 was a joke, one of the defense's witness worked in favor of the plaintiffs. There has been a lot of talk about what this means, in the broader scheme of things this case will go to the Supreme Court, if they choose to hear. We won't know the decision of the Supreme Court for many more years, but when we do it either will absolutely euphoric or it will set Marriage Equality way back. This means the plaintiffs have taken a huge wager, so far it has proven to be successful, but could it turn for the worse. I am of the persuasion that even if it may turn for the worse, that it may prove to set Marriage Equality back, we must in the face of injustice continue this fight, to continue what has been started. No matter what the truth will win out. Those on the side of fairness, on the side of love, on the side of respect, must know that the truth will win out. Even in the face of this great task, the truth should be sought and fought for. To seek the truth is noble. The truth shall set us free. Those in search of truth should not live in fear, should not stop searching for the truth because it is hard. Harder the search, greater the reward.

Experiments

Gandhi describes his life as small experiments. Gandhi would try different experiments to seek the truth. The truth is not always apparent, truth is hard. We would rather live in lies than tell the truth. Lies are easier to believe because they make us feel good. The truth is not easy, it does not always make us feel good.

Discernment

At this moment, in my life, I am discerning a call to ministry. I am trying to figure out God's plan for my life. This summer, I have dedicated my readings towards discernment.
